It's time to contract.

I'm sitting around in the midst of the collapse, hoping it gets better, planning for the worst, and trying not to just take the kids and hide in the basement.

Now that I'm employed again, I think I'll just make sure the family is out of the hole. Fill it in and don't get back in it again. I think all the neat toys (bikes, my hobbies and whatnot) and other goodies can wait. Besides, might a cool new bike for getting to work on be something far better?

Herself mentioned looking for another car in the fall. Well, while it would be fun to go places and all that, right now more payments are the last thing we need. Even a really efficient van would still need care and feeding. Maybe give hybrids another year or so might be a better idea.

I guess just my inner pessimism is getting to me today...
